September Visitor Voices

Whether it’s a school field trip, a family outing or a just by chance visit, everyone has a story about their visit to the Museum of Pop Culture.

These stories can give us a behind-the-scenes look at the individuals who work at the museum and the meaningful, transformative experiences that guests had during their visit and how their experience entertained, educated and/or helped them gain a new perspective and appreciation for pop culture.

Building A Powerful Community For Seattle Youth

The Residency 2019 is a wrap but the youth involved will continue to develop their art for years to come. This year, we offered ____ local youth intensive workshops in creative songwriting, performance techniques, and beat production. They were able to record an EP in a professional studio, receive mentorships from professional artists,  and the program culminated with a performance in MoPOP’s Sky Church. Check out the video to see the students and teachers in action. You make it possible.

From Sea to Shining Sea

"During my deployments, I get cards from the USO and find a place that matches to send it. Today I found your museum. This is my way of making the Army a little smaller to all of you. It is my handshake and thank you for providing such a wonderful place for people to visit. Pop culture has had a huge place in the military. Many pop culture icons have served in uniform.

May the force be with you."

 - SFC Aaron N., U.S. Army, as told to Rachael Lovette, Content Marketing Manager

Something For Every Fandom

"We enjoyed the Museum of Pop Culture more than we expected to -- it was a blast. Our favorite exhibitions were the Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction and Scared to Death. Thank you!"

- Gabrielle, as told to Rachael Lovette, Content Marketing Manager

Inspiring Young Hip Hop Artists

“They are loved, they are respected and this is a place they can come and continue to grow their art”

- Jace, The Residency Teaching Artist, as told to Kim Goldberg, Annual Fund Manager
