Underoos, the infamous line of underwear for children and small adults alike, produced by the Fruit of the Loom company in the late seventies is back. Yes you heard it here first. Although updated for kids of today, the much adorned original line included a matching super hero top and bottom, resembling the likeness of characters from pop culture including superman, R2D2 and Wonder Woman. It was one of my favourite escapes (I’m not telling you which outfit I had). Like a superhero who wears their costume under their street clothing, Underoos empowered children to believe they had the ability to believe and do anything. Sort of like an earlier version of Oprah for underwear.
… When is the last time your Stanfields accomplished that?

Balance your rack and hold on to your vowels, because thanks to a lover of typography and a board prototype by designer Andrew Carpenter, Scrabble has struck an agreement to build a beautifully designed and typographic version of an American classic: Scrabble. Another case of the internet fueling the fire, Andrew Carpenter’s blog was overwhelmed with requests and positive feedback prompting game maker Hasbro to take notice. The game should be available in August 2012 courtesy of exclusive product designers Winning Solution.

It’s sad that Whitney Houston may be be remembered more for her troubled final years than the incredible body of work that represents her legacy. Does it really matter what the cause of her death is? What matters is that the world has lost one of the most immensely talented Divas every to grace the stage. In case you missed it, Jennifer Hudson performed an amazing tribute to Whitney at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.
