Like many nonprofit arts institutions, the pandemic impacted MoPOP significantly.
After a lengthy closure in 2020, it was such a joy to reopen earlier this year and once again be able to do what we do best: working with our community and exploring the narratives of pop culture which unite us all. Despite this, we’re still experiencing lasting impacts. This summer we made the decision to postpone our annual in-person fundraising benefit to prioritize the safety and health of our community and supporters. Instead, we have created an exciting sweepstakes opportunity which will help support our mission and engage the communities that we serve.
When you support MoPOP with a donation to our sweepstakes, you help us preserve and display objects across time and genre which resonate with us all. Your gift also allows us to expand our public programs and education programs that support our mission and engage our community, including:
- Sound Off! provides a platform for young musicians to share their original work and build community with their peers
- Youth Art Series extends the opportunities available to Sound Off! artists and brings in community partners who provide year-round space and resources to help artists develop their music
- Virtual Student Clubs gives youth a safe place to connect with their peers, combat isolation, and explore shared interests
