MoPOP and the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) are proud to announce the Science Fiction and Fantasy Short Film Festival is in its 20th year! We are now accepting short film submissions for the 2025 screening next June.

Now in its 20th year, SFFSFF screens animated and live-action Science Fiction and Fantasy short films from around the world, which are then judged by nationally recognized film critics. Films screened at SFFSFF have gone on to receive international distribution and sparked the interest of a vast network of film fans — even receiving Academy Awards nominations, museum exhibition features, and more.

MoPOP and SIFF are looking for all types of short films focused on Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres. Want to learn more about what the judges will be looking for? Check out our recent blog post with insight from Maddy Szmidt, SFFSFF’s Festival Producer, to learn more.
