How do horror filmmakers elicit specific responses from their audience? Participants will analyze scenes from Get Out (2017) and Umma (2022), learn about tools filmmakers use to generate a response from their audience, and apply those techniques to their own spine-chilling horror story. This workshop utilizes film elements like music, camera angles, and dialogue. Educators will work in groups to discuss grade-level applications.
This content is developed for grades 9-12 but educators of all grade levels are welcome to join! All participants receive a discount on their next MOPOP Education Outreach workshop booking.
