With countless comics as well as television, film, and game appearances, Wonder Woman is arguably the most famous female superhero of all time.
Wonder Woman’s combination of brains, brawn, and beauty have made her a positive role model since her creation in 1941. Sculpted from clay by her mother Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons, Princess Diana lived on Paradise Island with her fellow Amazons until circumstances led her to leave in order to promote justice and peace in our world as Wonder Woman. With her Lasso of Truth and bullet-stopping Bracelets of Submission, Wonder Woman fights evil and helps restore peace; however, her accessories are not what makes Wonder Woman a superhero. Princess Diana is a master athlete and fighter trained in Amazonian martial arts, possessing super strength, extreme agility, and rapid healing.
Created by William Moulton Marston, first drawn by H.G. Peter, and produced by DC Comics, Wonder Woman first appeared in All Star Comics #8 in 1941. Since then, she's appeared in numerous comics, graphic novels, a live-action television series, numerous animated series, and feature films.
