Watch 'Attack the Block' With MoPOP + 'Real Queen of Horror' Zena Dixon!
For our "Grow Up!" film series, we're exploring adolescence in all its lusty, zitty, complicated glory. Through December 2020, we'll be celebrating movies from all over the genre map that show just how joyful and confounding being a teenager can be.
You're invited to join us at 6 p.m. PT this Saturday, October 10, as MoPOP Production Associate Kasi Gaarenstroom, MoPOP Manager of Public Engagement Robert Rutherford, and special guest Zena Dixon lead an online watchalong and virtual discussion of Attack the Block.

Zena Dixon is your best friend who loves horror movies! She's best known as Real Queen of Horror, which is the name of her over-the-top YouTube channel and website. Due to her love and knowledge of horror, Zena has been featured on iHorror, Florida Geek Scene, Wicked Horror, Dread Central, Bloody-Disgusting, and El Rey Network. You can also find her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Here are a handful of program elements you can expect to see this Saturday, October 10 during our Attack the Block watchalong:
- Pre-film introduction with MoPOP’s Kasi Gaarenstroom and It’s Coming from Inside the House watchalong host, MoPOP Manager of Public Engagement Robert Rutherford, plus special guest Zena Dixon, Real Queen of Horror.
- Cheap-as-heck quarantine cosplay!
- Cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine-pairing recommendations
- Chat with Kasi, Robert, Zena, and other fans during the film
- Post-film discussion on how Attack the Block exemplifies the horrors of growing up!
As with all of our virtual watchalongs, to participate you'll need to register in advance, and then on event day make sure you have a copy of the film queued up and ready to watch on your end while keeping an eye on your e-mail inbox for a link to join our online discussion.
